Overview

Pharmaceutics is a core branch of pharmaceutical sciences that focuses on the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) or existing drug into a safe and effective medication for patient use. It involves the formulation, manufacturing, quality control, and delivery of drugs, ensuring optimal therapeutic efficacy and safety.

ABOUT COURSE

  • Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutics is a two-year postgraduate program that provides advanced knowledge and hands-on training in drug formulation, development, and delivery systems. This specialization bridges the gap between drug discovery and its practical application in therapy.

The following are the labs run by the department:

Pharmaceutics Lab

The institute is having fourteen labs including AC instrumentation room and machine room. All labs are well equipped with sophisticated instruments including UV spectrophotometer, HPLC, multi-station Franz diffusion cell assembly, Brookfield Viscometer,Tablet Compression Machine, I-disso Electrolab etc.

course thumb

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab

Pharmaceutical chemistry is the study of drugs, and it involves drug development. This includes drug discovery, delivery, absorption, metabolism, and more. There are elements of biomedical analysis, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics. Pharmaceutical chemistry work is usually done in a lab.

Pharmacology Lab 1

Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory. … The laboratory’s rapidly expanding test menu includes routine assays for drugs that are also offered by other clinical laboratories but its primary focus is on drugs for which therapeutic drug monitoring is not available anywhere else.

course thumb

Pharmacy Practice Lab

The Pharmacy Practice Lab is used by students to practice and master their drug compounding and preparation skills in various dosage forms, including the injectables before entering the workforce. A new cleanroom facility is included in this lab.

Pharmacognosy Lab

In Pharmacognosy lab we study the different parameters of crude drugs like there biological source ,active chemical constitunets , morphological and microscopical character evalutions and uses. In this subject we also study the cultivation , collection and prepartions of crude drugs.

Pharmacology Lab 2

The laboratory is designed to provide a foundation in human biology. This includes the knowledge of basic anatomical and histological organization of the human body and its physiology. Students learn how the various organs of the body interact with one another and how they contribute to the overall physiology of the body.
