Academic Quality and Standards

Our role

Our team sits within the quality enhancement area of Quality Enhancement and Student Success (QESS) which is part of the Student and Learning Services Directorate.

We support and co-ordinate the CPR Academic Quality Framework (AQF) and its associated processes.

Our main areas of work

The CPR is responsible to its students for the quality and standards of its academic provision. We must meet or exceed CPR threshold academic standards and offer high-quality learning opportunities. The AQF reflects the CPR's commitment to provide high-quality learning, teaching and research and helps staff take deliberate steps to enhance the student experience.

Central AQS staff supports the development and implementation of a number of institutional quality management policies and processes.

AQS staff who are based in faculties support the implementation of consistent CPR quality management processes within each faculty, such as

  • Course Completion
  • Lab Experiment
  • Periodic Review
  • Annual Monitoring and Review

AQS team members also support work undertaken in relation to professional, statutory and regulatory bodies, such as accreditation events or ongoing monitoring. Staff in the faculty teams service the Faculty Quality Committee, Modification Panels and Departmental Quality Review Boards and undertake faculty-specific quality activities.
Oversight of the framework is undertaken by the Academic Quality, Standards and Enhancement Committee on behalf of the Academic Board.
